Lopez Island - Energy Efficiency Project
Recycled Paper at Lopez School Research Document
Posted June 4th, 2008 by tcarterHere is a PDF of the research document I wrote for my school's Senior Project. It highlights the environmental impacts of the pulp and paper industry, some solutions to those impacts, and lastly, what I've done at Lopez School as far as changing purchasing habits and increasing paper consciousness. Hope it's an interesting and informative read!

Flyers/Handouts

Welcome to the Lopez Island Energy Efficieny Project: Converting to Recycled Paper
Posted January 9th, 2008 by tcarterThe goal is for the Island 's K-12 school (the only school and the largest employer on the island) to use solely 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper instead of the virgin, 0-10% recycled paper they are currently using. By making the school more energy efficient, the gap between learning about a problem and doing something about a problem would be filled. Once this initial goal is achieved, the project will be replicated in other schools and country offices.
