Lopez Island - Energy Efficiency Project

It highlights the environmental impacts of the pulp and paper industry, some solutions to those impacts, and lastly, what I've done at Lopez School as far as changing purchasing habits and increasing paper consciousness. Here are some flyers and handouts I made for my school as part of my paper reduction campaign. Feel free to use the first for yourself or school community and to make a model of the second unique to your school!

The goal is for the Island 's K-12 school (the only school and the largest employer on the island) to use solely 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper instead of the virgin, 0-10% recycled paper they are currently using. By making the school more energy efficient, the gap between learning about a problem and doing something about a problem would be filled. Once this initial goal is achieved, the project will be replicated in other schools and country offices.
