Welcome to the Animal Welfare Project

Every year, more than 80,000 animals are euthanized in Atlanta’s 17 counties. Nearly 60% of impounded animals are euthanized due to lack of homes. The Animal Welfare Project addresses this problem by raising awareness, helping people find local animal shelters, opening a new shelter on campus to make it easy for students to adopt pets. These goals will be reached by: 1) creating a website that connects animals, shelters, and potential owners; 2) starting a foster program at Georgia Tech, 3) raising money for the new shelter, and 4) an educational campaign.
