TED Talk: Philip Zimbardo knows Evil

Let's just be straightforward: a person can do great or horrible things, they can be good or bad, and, of course, they can be a monster or a hero.

Philip Zimbardo, the head of the 1971 Standford Prison Experiment, which was designed to test the boundaries of evil in the human mind. He knows plenty about evil, various experiments on the subject, and more.

Philip Zimbardo looks at and explains why people can become a monster rather than a hero, and just how easy this is to do, in this TED Talk:

While watching this video, be sure to question yourself as to whether or not you could be considered evil. If you decide that you're on the hero side, take action and work harder to curb all other evils in the world!

TED Talk: Ann Cooper's made improvements with school lunches

Let's get to the point: The "nutritional" foods given to children at schools for lunch aren't so nutritious. There are pesticides and other nasty, harmful things that are placed into our foods the way they are produced and handled.

Meet Ann Cooper. She's a lunchlady, but she's not like most. In the district in which she works in, salad bars and organic foods have been implemented into school lunches with great success.

And she wants this to happen everywhere else too. Cooper wants America to start with schools in providing organic, healthier foods to save future generations from the poisons that are placed into our foods now.

TED Talk: Jane Goodall knows a thing or two about primates and people

Jane Goodall, a well-known chimpanzee researcher, knows plenty about primates - more than just about anyone else. She's studied them for many years and created an institute in her name back 1977.

Her ideas influenced the way scientists view humans and other animals together. And in this video, she explains how various programs and projects help Africans live in close proximity with other animals.

TED Talk: What is purpose to Rick Warren?

After writing The Purpose-Driven Life, Mark Warren questioned his own purpose in life with the reception of money and prestige. He also questioned the purpose of mankind as a whole.

What he came up with was the following: All of the gifts that individuals are given, no matter how big or small, should be used to make the world a better place.

Warren wants to go on the attack against spiritual emptiness, egocentric leadership, extreme poverty, pandemic disease, and illiteracy and poor education. Shouldn't we all want to correct these problems of the world?

TED Talk: Corneille Ewango breaks family tradition in the Congo

Corneille Ewango was born into a family of poachers and hunters in the Congo Basin forest. Although his family poached animals, his future would turn him against such actions.

After various attempts at being accepted into a university, Ewango eventually succeeded and became a botanist. Even more so, he became a strong advocate of protecting the life of the Congo Basin forest from poachers, miners, hunters, and soldiers.

Although born into a family that was slowly taking resources from the region, Ewango eventually became and still is one of the biggest protectors of the life-plant and animal alike-in the Congo Basin Forest.

Watch this TED Talk to learn how Ewango transcended the traditions of his family and became a strong advocate for the preservation of this region:
